Do I need MAINFRAME?
I've been asked this, and honestly, no. You don't need MAINFRAME.
MAINFRAME is like another instrument and you know you don't need another instrument.
If you are a music producer, technically a DAW can do everything you need and will cover the needs of 99% of music producers out there.
When you are using a single instrument, what you can do musically is limited by the potential of that instrument. If you add another piece of gear, it can now combine with the first, and a whole spectrum of new possibilities emerge. This goes on with the third piece, forth, fifth and so on, with the potential of the entire system curated by you so it can perfectly match your growing creativity.
Now do you need any of the additional gear beyond the first? You don't *need* it if your main instrument is something versatile like an electric guitar, piano or a DAW. But why limit your creativity?
This setup is all sound-based. Now with MAINFRAME, you can bring your sound based art into the visual domain. What can emerge as a result?
That's my goal really with MAINFRAME and future iterations... Multi-sensory art will be the future especially as things become more digital and move towards the Metaverse and other VR worlds. One can argue that even currently, artists posting their work on social media, doing live streams or in-person shows have an advantage if they have engaging visuals to go with their music.
Besides that, a lot of visualizers kind of suck and I am trying to develop a suite of audio to visual instruments that don't. Hopefully in the future,
